There is just something about sprite-based games that appeal to me more than modern polygon titles. Right now, I am playing the original Shantae game, which was released for the Gameboy Color, on my Nintendo Switch. After the physical version arrives, I will be playing Panzer Paladin after that.
Not saying that polygon games are not good or that I do not enjoy them (because I do), but there is just something about the inherent limitations of working with sprites that forces developers to come up with creative solutions that I find captivating.
